Food is an amazing thing. We need it to stay alive but it is so much more than that. Our lives center around it, any gathering is made better by food. Yet we worry more about it than probably anything else in our lives. We worry about if it is going to make us fat, or break out, or if it will make us sick. We build a recipe we love only to have others tear it down because it isn’t the way they do it, or it has something they don’t like it in. Food can be mood, therapy on a bad (or good) day. We sometimes use it as a reward. We worry about being a good cook or the right type of cook.
This blog is not going to go into a lot of discussion on most of these food issues. It’s a collection site for my recipes that I am afraid I am going to lose if I don’t do something. Eventually I will print it to a hard book but for now, I’m publishing my collection here. There will be stories about some of these recipes. I will try to
include Nutritional info as much as I can.
So, if you enjoy cooking and food join me. It will be fun!
Here is how this blog will work. I have posted pages that
you will see on the side. Each time I post a recipe it will be posted to one of
these pages. I will try to tag them as I can. The pages are pretty straight-forward,
at least to me. Some that need explanation are as follows.
Easy: just what it said. These are throw together or
beginning cooking easy.
Family Cook: my family cooks and have contributed these
recipes. Some they have gathered from various places and some they made up
themselves.
Good but Time Consuming: I have tried these and although I
really like them, they require time and often preparation.
Fun Friday: We often have just easy going meals on Friday, I
may combine this one with easy at some point. Basically, feel-good favorites.
Other: This one is the catch-all for stuff that doesn’t fit
anywhere else. Canning, kitchen calculations, tips and tricks, cleaning, and
how-to cooking.
